More Gig Progress.Best Yet.
The open mic nights of which there have been many ,have been a very fertile ground for confidence , playing under greatly different sonic & logistical circumstances , stage work , singing etc etc etc etc. The peak so far came the other night as a "showcase night " at a restaurant which used to do open nights but has changed format to 3 acts x 45 min sets through the period when people are in eating. Longest time I've played non stop, practiced like a maniac for the days prior. To cut a long story short it was pretty relaxed and on the night so was I so I've made some real progress on that front. I had my new pedal board , and have worked on varying sounds a bit more now either through the board or pickup selection. Got through 4 with vocals , a record They've been good fans of the Stick, nice folks and the good news is I should be working there in January on either friday or saturday nights for two sets , but for $ from that point on. The plan continues. Pics show my little setup in the corner & the setlist, I used the Grand & The Alto. Gradually wanting to increase the content of the grand but I have successfully crossed the bridge of swapping between the two given the size change. Cheers . B

Really awesome news, jamming is fun, eh? I know that I'd be jamming with every one of you guys and checking out your performances as much as possible if we were just a bit closer geographically. But hey, we ARE connected through the internet, so that's good! This summer I did a ton of open mics, mostly because I could finally play something on the Stick that wasn't too terrible, but also because playing in front of people, videotaping yourself, etc etc really does something to cement one's confidence in one's abilities... Anyways, super cool!

Great progress captain. Your musical output becomes evident in numerous stages from knowledge, technique and vocabulary to presentation. The journey continues as you conquer previously unexplored territory. Cheers Steve A

Great news! If you don't mind my asking, how long have you been playing?
