Re: I HEAR AN ALTO STICK CALLING ME
I believe you can order a Stick without inlays and then have whatever you want done by a third party luthier. I've seen that done 2 or 3 times. I saw one bamboo Grand with palm tree inlays which was totally cool. I thought about getting some Southwest Navajo design inlays when I ordered my bamboo Grand but the turquoise lines ended up being close enough to what I had in mind.

Re: I HEAR AN ALTO STICK CALLING ME
I have a Rosewood Alto in standard Alto tuning. Light guage strings i find give me the best sound. Small and really easy to cart around. I tried the extended tunings but the 1rst and 10th strings like to snap with that tuning. Not a problem in standard Alto tuning. I love the Alto. I had a Railboard but it was just to physically big for me. I would love to try a SG12 at some point but can't afford that yet. As for tunes, you can transcribe anything you want too with time and patience. Any stick book in standard tuning is easy, you just move the melody side up 2 frets. Bass stays the same. Although hand position sometimes needs to adjusted so your hands dont run into each other. Matt Rogers has quite a few tunes on youtube with the Alto. I have recently finished his tune "can't say goodbye" to Alto. Will be trying to work on "Awakening" at some point too. Great tune. Glen Poorman has a few really cool Alto tunes too.
Just my 2 cents.
Cheers

Mirrored 4ths would be my poison... I just really want those super high notes! I love my Grand, but maybe it's time to add to the arsenal...

Ive watched the Japhlet Video a lot. Its so well done. Thanks Captain
If I was a guitar guy I might like the SG12. So many choices Scott.
Harry Was your original stick MR?
Stephen I Have to catch up to you. I think you set a record for getting the most sticks in the shortest time.
Was thinking it would be cool if Stick Enterprise could do Maple leafs in Red instead of inlay dots but Not sure if they do that sort of thing. Whats more Canadian than Maple Trees and Maple leafs. They could use Maple syrup as a wood finish.
Yes, Shark Inlays who did Steve Adelson's Solar Stick is located nearby in Novi Michigan. I've thought about doing something like that too, but haven't figured what it'd want. I have exchanged emails with the guy. You would need Emmett to send him a blank Stick with no frets as he uses a CNC with something like a small Dremel.

That was one of the videos that convinced me to get a shorter scale stick. Glenn's playing also did There's a really amazing video of a guy playing an SG12 I assume with the two guitar setup

That's Akin Unver from Turkey. Another excellent musician. He is a studied classical guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. We had the pleasure of hanging with Akin a bit while he was doing graduate work at the University of Michigan. He composed the tune below for piano and cello. If memory serves, he learned the cello in order to record this video. I know he's here on stickist but I don't think he checks in very often these days.
