Grand Grand Stick ?
Hi everybody, I love my grand! The only drawback for me is the string spacing - it became more obvious to me while noodling on a warr, that a wider string spacing makes playing easier for me in most cases (because of my big fat bass player fingers ) I'm aware of the 10 string grand stick with increased string spacing, but I'm interested if there is an option for a 12 string with wider spacing? A "grand grand", or "super grand" stick so to say Does anyone know if something like this is or was done by SE? Best, Andreas

Re: Grand Grand Stick ?
The Railboard have bigger spacing, 10 string though. Maybe try a railboard? Get skinnier fingers? Lol
I had an opportunity recently to try a Warr. It was really different. The owner I think needs to get it set up, haha I much prefer the Stick, but that's just me!

Re: Grand Grand Stick ?
I believe the 12 string Railboard will have slightly wider string spacing than hardwood Grands.

Re: Grand Grand Stick ?
The sting on the NS are not parallel, but even at the nut they are further apart than the strings on a Grand. After playing the NS (and the instruments that I've built with wide string spacing) I am convinced that a wider Grand would be a fantastic idea ... and I don't think I have fat fingers The only concerns would be 1) wider means more wood and more weight and 2) the obvious increase in distance to reach across the board. Still ...

Re: Grand Grand Stick ?
Hmm ... I'd go for a 10string Grand - if I wouldn't prefer 12 strings. So the NS, and the 10 string RailBoard aren't really options for me ...

Re: Grand Grand Stick ?
What's your issue with the spacing? Unless you want to play uncrossed, a wider board is just going to make playing harder. (and the instrument heavier)
