Re: Tom Hamilton's Chapman Stick for sale
A curious part of the description is
Quote:
After seeing jazz virtuoso Stanley Jordan perform on a Chapman Stick, Tom became obsessed with the instrument and immediately bought one, intending to become proficient.
Stanley Jordan?
It then goes on to say:
Quote:
After a short time he discovered just how involved learning to play this instrument was and before long it was back in its case and on the shelf in Aerosmith's storage warehouse where it remained until now.
I had no idea that AeroSmith was interested in the Stick. Steven Tyler showed up at our hangar to rehearse one night. The Fund Raising Gala was the following evening. Lots of talent...

Stanley Jordan
I know who Stanley Jordan is (I have a couple of his albums and a 'technique' DVD he produced), it was the connection to Stick I was querying.
I've only ever seen him tap on guitar (sometimes more than one).
I have a vague recall of some disagreement over 'what really happened' regarding whether or not he ever tried out a Stick, & if so when?
