A nice preamp, like the SfX SP2 will help with the clean tone. You might also look into the Neunaber Iconoclast. Have been really impressed with its tone.

Re: 4 Jazzers
Hmmm... Pass and Montgomery had very different tones. So much to Wes’ tone came from thumb and fingers. That juicy fat sound was almost closer to a great finger style electric bass player digging in. Steve Adelson gets closest to Wes I think with the Roland VG 99. For a good all around jazz tone you have to have a good preamp and roll off the highs and high mids to taste. There is a hollow body woodyness to both Wes and Joe which can’t just be EQed In or pedaled in. Brett Here a tone I like (during my skinny period) https://youtu.be/NGbM3H6KhP0

Re: 4 Jazzers
Thanks Brett. Yup VG99 I've programmed a decent Wes facsimile, similarly a Metheny and Django tone. Also Metheny's coral sitar sound (Last Train)and a decent Sanatana sound. VG stands for virtual guitar. Programming guitar and amp simulations plus tone and effects will get you close. Never exact because the tap attack is not the pluck sound. Pretty close though. I play lots of Wes and Metheny tunes. Simulation helps the authenticity. Your amp and cabinet of course also affect tone. I use Epifani

Here is a pedalboard created on the MOD Duo by a fellow Stickist. Not sure if this is the sound you are looking for but the sound sample is definitely jazzy... https://pedalboards.moddevices.com//pedalboards/5c01c6832564d433e78f67a3

Thanks Dean. the duo has all the tinker toys you would needi think. the pedalboard dean gives you a glimpse of how to get where you'd like. i have a mod duo and it's really easy to use. l like it a lot. it also has serviceable hardware two channel pre-amp so i don't need anything special for my stickup pickup.

Re: 4 Jazzers
Wow,preamps, software, firmware, computers, synths, pedals, jacks, cords etc.my investigations to deviate the sound of my Stick got expensive, cumbersome and confusing.I think I will take the "Time" to play Stick better than the "Money" to make it sound different.Wound rather take my money to buy another kind of Stick.not discouraged just curious of what some of you players are using.? .
