Just chewed up pretty good. We'll see once I get some strings on it

In case you aren't aware, what's used nowadays for the damper is essentially one side of a velcro fastener.

Really?
Ah, the joys of building effects pedal boards! I've got tons of that stuff kicking around! One less thing to worry about trying to find!
Thanks for the tip!

Note, however, that Velcro fasteners have different lengths of soft bristles. Ordinary Velcro for effects may be insufficient for effective strings damping.

I found some strips sold as 'loop & hook cable ties' that seem to work well (on a guitar). There's a picture in this forum post.

And in this post Greg Howard confirms that it's velcro that SE use.

I'll look into that!
Thanks!!

EDIT; I just took a look online at a local fabric/hobby store, as well as my local big box hardware chain. Both seem to offer a few different options, so I have a feeling I know where I'll be going this weekend (besides, my wife is a Perpetual Outdoor Project kinda gal; she'll jump at the chance to hit them up for goodies)!

When I started fooling with MIDI Guitar 2 I needed some additional damping on the melody. I had some hardware-store self-adhesive Velcro tape, and a piece of the hook-side worked perfectly. YMMV but worth a try.

I plan to try both. Hopefully, I'll find a solution.

But, STRINGS first...
