Thanks for the good words. You're spot on about serving the song. I play very few solos because I'm not very good at it, and nothing too fancy because I'm far from being a good stickist. This is also one of the reasons why I sing. It hides my lousy playing. :oops:

I don't know that I LOVE the Roland RC300, it's got a lot of cool features, but it's kind of laid out in typical roland/boss fashion. Comes with an "awesome" manual, directly translated from the Japanese... The EXH 45000 seems to me to be much, much superior. I'm not just saying that because I'm a huge Electroharmonix fan, either... lol Just my opinion...

I look forward to your arrangements, I love how your LH and RH follow each other so perfectly, I work on that a lot too, for my "singer/songwriter" mode. Songs. Some one mentioned the TC Voicelive3 I have one. I am using a Bass preamp pedal (MXR) that has an XLR out. I feed the Bass side of the stick into the MIC input and the Melody side into the GTR Input. Now I have separate FX for each side that are in sync with each other and I can Loop either side in sync with each other and have separate outputs. Works pretty well. I haven't used it live yet. My applications for live looping are mostly looping a bass line and/or riff and then playing another instrument (Horns, melodica usually).

Great thread! Has anyone tried the Eventide Timefactor looper functions? How does it rank? And also, what about the TC Ditto x2/x4? I think you have to double-click to end the loop which seems problematic for good timing? Any experiences? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A lot of people have recommended one of the flavors of the TC Ditto. Cheap, easy to use, and simple controls. Gets the job done. My personal opinion is that these are too basic for me and I want more loops and more functionality, but this seems a good place to start, if you're starting. I've been doing "loops" through Pro Tools and MIDI sequencers for several years, and I'm ready for the Roland RC-300, as several people have recommended. TC Electronic Ditto Stereo Looper Pedal I finally just pulled the trigger on a looper. I waffled between getting the $500+ version with all the bells and whistles, or the stripped down and simple version of the Ditto for $99. Instead, I went for the cheap option but did it in stereo, for $129. I probably should have gone for the Ditto X4, but this will do. I suspect I'll be graduating to the Electro-Harmonix 45000 4-Track Looper Pedal at some point.
