I put it this way once in a quote Emmett used in a Stick ad:

"The Stick liberates the keyboardist. It is worn and held. It becomes a part of your music-making body. you are not at your instrument, you are with it."

That sensation of being connected is such a powerful part of the sensation of playing for me, having the instrument on a stand just feels "weird". But, to each his own...

...wow, what a description of the feeling...
...it's indeed the same experience for me...

...on the other side, why not exploring further possibilities...

...thanks, Greg...

Would it be possible to orient this for a sitting position, and where can one obtain one?

In theory, it would depend on how low the cymbal stand (or whatever stand you use) can go to the floor. My guess is that the application for which this is intended might not work.

You might be better off with a Lap Dawg if you want to play seated. Just my $.02

Pulling this video from Rico Molden's 2016 YouTube video. He makes a CS strap using a regular guitar strap with a few enhancements. At the 4:28 mark, he shows a prototype of his for a chair/stool height CS stand using a "frankensteined" snare drum stand.

I have made the guitar strap myself using heavy velcro. It works great!! I'll try to post pics.

I’m interested to see how your strap looks using Velcro.

Interesting.
I like the Tagg in the studio. It is not something i would bring on a gig unless i was playing multiple sticks. I like Bob Culbertson's lap bar, I watched him play standing. or sitting with a lap bar that he custom made. I am pretty sure he incorporated velcro.
I don't really find the shoulder strap getting in my way at all.
The stand is great, again for the studio.

It is a more disconnected feeling from the instrument when playing on a stand. One should learn to play no matter the attachment. The more ways you can play the instrument the more you will understand the theory and patterns that map your brain to your fingers.

Can you please post some photos? In the video, I can't make out what those two attachments to the guitar strap are. I also want to build the snare stand mod but he doesn't show any closeup shots of the top section/holder.
