Good fun today! While there's been lots of talk about the Strymon Big Sky these days on the stickist, there are a multitude to choose from and all with great features to explore new sounds with: Midi, expression input, Freeze and infinite features too.
Our conversations focused more on the actual setup of the pedal(s) for our instrument that has 2 outputs with varying ranges (bass and melody).
Talking points included:
Melody side only?
one unit or two?
using a mixer with an aux channel
using a single unit with 2 inputs and outputs
using an effects processor (in our case, the HD500x)
It was interesting to see how we all had different approaches to to getting the right reverb sound. After our conversation, we were inspired to dig a little deeper into our effects pedals / boards to better understand how this works.
Lots of great insight on how to use and when to use it - does the tune call for it? Lots of good insight from Tomas, Dave, Kevin, Boaz and Rob. Thanks so much for a great session. We're going to do a follow up session on
pedalboards for the Stick next week, so please watch for that coming up!
Happy Free Hands Friday everyone!
