meugel,
It is perhaps not possible to add an option now, i would have appreciated an option for 'more than 36"', but nevermind 8-) That might be my choice and i have seen other forum members expressing an interest in longer scales.

Sorry, it was my fault. Since I'm not a bass player, I tend to use shorter lengths.
I've added the option 'more than 36"'.

It seems in this poll 'scale length' means 'nut to saddle'. Stick Enterprises are using an alternative meaning for 'scale length' for the description of the Railboard which is not nut to saddle, see the thread discussing this. The Railboard is not 34" nut to saddle, and is not 34" 'scale length' by this poll's meaning of 'scale length'.

You are absolutely right. That's why I excluded the Railboard from the poll. It is not very easy to follow the logic of SE. I took the official data on the SE website.

To me it is no question. 36". Especially as a 10-string player, having that extra almost two inches for the left hand is hugely expansive, particularly playing crossed. The Railboard achieves some of this by having more space at the nut, which makes the X fret more uniformly playable.

Having a tappable low C? awesome.
Having a low G on the 2nd string? fabulous.

I was so excited to have my first 36" scale instrument I exploded with improvisational energy the first time I played it in public. Captured by Dan Chapman on video. Enjoy...

Thanks Greg.
I am totally agree and I love the X-fret.
But I noticed that more space in the high notes would be more important to me. It's a very personal experience. Since I play the Alto a lot, I would like to see a few extra frets in the lower register without going straight to 36". An "extended" SG12 would be ideal for me ... ;)

BY ADDING ANOTHER OPTION (more than 36") ALL PREVIOUS VOTES WERE UNFORTUNATELY DELETED. PLEASE VOTE AGAIN!

So did I, again for 34" scale.

With the hurricane bearing down on us tomorrow, I hope to spend sometime finally getting properly aquainted with my RB-8 which is 34" but with the X-fret that had kind of thrown me off real bad upon my initial playing of this amazing instrument, hopefully this will begin a proper relationship !!

36". I have both an Ironwood (34") and a 12-string Grand DBR and am a bassist at heart (so all my musings are deep) and I love them both but I can pluck a muted and slightly sharp A (no one can tell down there) and I have my favorite C at the first marker on the DBR, so, haha.
But. I didn't vote because I would play any Stick at any length and be happy.
(those Alto's and SG's look mighty enticing)
I mean, seriously, it's a fucking Stick.
