Welcome to the coolest instrument in the universe! Coming to the Stick from an "experienced guitarist" background might make you feel a bit frustrated in the beginning. Piano players, drummers or anyone coming from a multitasking instrument (playing different simultaneous lines with each hand) usually gets an easier start. Keep in mind that it will take about a year to rewire nervs in your brain in order to get started with the independent two-hand playing. This is a drag if you already have skills on another (non multitasking) instrument, but the reward is great if you just stick to it.

Welcome to this forum and community...it's a great place to get all the information you need about what this instrument is, etc...have fun with it, that's the main point to start it.

WHOA! Schralping!

And you're rocking an HD500 too, maybe check out last week's Free Hands Friday for some tips on how to use that with your Stick.

:D Welcome sir! So, out of curiosity, what is your favorite Rush album and why?

Leave it to Rob to sort all that stuff on the HD500 - a software engineer! Good to have in the community for sure...!

I am certain all the chops will carry over. Like others have said here, it's just getting used to the spacing and then the "unsettling" of your mind as a guitarist or bassist. Those first few moments are precious as the tuning and patterns start to settle in. The journey begins!

I was a 70's kid and an 80's teenager, so I tend to lean towards Moving Pictures as my go to album as well. Permanent Waves was my first album, which totally blew my away, and then along comes Moving Pictures. Permanent Waves would take a pretty close second I suppose...!
