Hello from Melbourne Australia
Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi and thanks for letting me in.
I have an SB8 Rosewood that I got from Mr Chapman in 2011 when he was gracious with his time while I was on holiday in the US. I’ve had it in bass 4ths for years as I’ve used the instrument mainly for left hand dominated playing due to an old right hand tendon injury but have of recent years been trying to introduce DBR into my playing.
Q: Is there a resource where I can find any info about DBR method or at least Classic as it applies to SB8’s?
Anyway, all the best and stay safe and happy
Craig

Hey Craig.
Great to meet you, up in here! Have you been playing since 2011?

Re: Hello from Melbourne Australia
For an 8-string, and due to your necessity for l.h. playing, you might look into inverted 5ths all the way across the board. I think you might run out of high-end string room, but a Crafty tuning might help. You will get the magic of the inverted 5ths open-chord voicings, and still have all the bass. Plus finding new bass lines. PM Big George Waters he has messed w/ 8 string and Crafty tunings. Good luck it's a cool instrument. I play 12 DBR and love it.

Hi Craig, when I saw Hello from Melbourne I was surprised , I'm there too. Good to see you pop up in the group. Can't really help with DBR, hope you get some good ideas here. Cheers
