Re: Stolen Stick
Hoping that the police and ebay get their respective acts together in time - would it be worth putting a bid in to guarantee that no one else will win this auction. Just to make sure it does not slip away.
We all hope that this comes back to you as it should but knowing how the fates can sometimes conspire against you, this would hold things up awhile so the chap has no one to ship it to. Gosh, am I making sense?
What I mean is, put in a bid for say $5000 so that no one else is going to out bid you then you will have some extra time to "arrange payment/collection etc" and hold things up if it becomes necessary. If it ends up with you playing dumb and him re-listing, it would just give you and police more time to play with if required.

Re: Stolen Stick
Good idea, but would that (and please forgive the dumb question) put the actual owner in the predicament of "knowingly purchasing stolen merchandise"? Even if it is his own Stick?
Probably should ask someone in the know first just to be safe

Re: Stolen Stick
Erics right, ask someone who knows first. Considdering how the law twists this way and that, Erics question isn't dumb by any means.

Re: Stolen Stick
Are the bidders clueless??? Or are they well aware of what they've gotten themselves into??? Type Chapman Stick into any search engine and with very little effort you will find SE. and this forum. With just a little more effort you would find this thread. It's probably a mixture of both.

Re: Stolen Stick
I notice the auction just now ended abruptly (I was "watching" it). What happened? Good news for bluedallas I hope!
