Clips/Videos/Links of players of the "Stick Bass" SB8
Hi guys,
As I keep on playing my 10-string polycarb, I'm also looking for a used SB8 to buy and play in straight 4ths.
Any resources that you can share regarding this stick model and tuning will help me get a clearer idea of what to expect from one.
Cheers, Walt

Following! I certainly noticed an absence of the SB8 being represented on YouTube etc. Don Schiffs stuff is a good start, even just googling or YouTubing his name and Stick turns up loads of good material.
If you’re not dead set on it being an SB8 for reference, and it’s just the all 4ths tuning you’re interested in, there’s a fair few extended range bassists who tap with such tunings, (Jean Baudin being one off the top of my head).
To be honest, despite coming from bass and guitar, I really like the tuning split of more typical stick tunings. I had the option to get a straight 4ths SB8 or buying a new Railboard and I’m glad I went with the Railboard.I could easily see myself getting lost or even worse, falling into old patterns if it was straight 4ths. Not trying to dismiss the tuning, not at all, just sharing what I’ve been thinking about in re: different tunings.

I found a few on YouTube. I’ll make a playlist and post it here.
