Post 12th string low volume
this is driving me crazy :

my 12th string is quite low in volume compared to others (i would say also the 11th string-but not as low as 12th)
this is especially noticeable on X fret and 1st fret

i have tried lowering the bridge for the 12th string up to a point the string actually touched the pickup-so i brought it back.
lowering the saddle on the other side caused it to touch 1st fret.

quite sure this was the case before moving from MR to RMR-after all it is not a huge change (medium gauge on both tunings)

also tried bypassing all fx-stick straight to amp

could it be that it is actually normal (?!)
any suggestions ?

Try going up to the next gauge string diameter on that string. You'd be amazed what one or two thousandths of an inch can add to a vibrating mass in a given magnetic field. Besides adjusting the pickup height you can also create a graphic EQ curve that smooths out the string to string volume differences on the bass side.

I have this problem to but with the 1st string (highest on the melody side).
I was gonna try lowering the pickup a bit since it’s sticking up like crazy. Everything with my stick was set up poorly so I bet the previous owner did some serious experimenting and then just got sick of it or something. I might not even be the 2nd owner for all I know.

Back to the pickup! I don’t have an allen key that is smal enugh for the adjustment thingies. Anyone know what size they are? Just asking so that I know exactly what to shop for?

I don't know if it varies, but which pickup module do you have?

out of curiosity (same question really) which pickup module are you using?

My initial instinct is to alter the PU height instead of altering the action (that that it's a whole solution, but I just mean if you are working on string-to-pickup gap adjustment)

Oops, forgot to include that vital information :P
I have the PASV-4 on mine. :)

Edit: Seems that the issue on my was that the face plate was not fully screwed on.
Now I can get my action even lower! Still would like to know that wrench size tho.

Isn’t there a way to lower the whole pickup module? Seems to be a Lot of room between the module and the place where it’s mounted.

The description on http://stick.com/instruments/tech/setup/ doesn’t seem to add up with what I’m seeing on my stick. :/

I agree with the captain there.i had multiple 12 string touch style instruments.the strings obviously get thinner and farther away from the pickups.i would not manipulate the pickups myself they are setup perfectly by Emmett.the heavier gage string at that distance is the practical solution. Thats why all my sticks now are 10 strings.accept for my SB8.
