Post Pulled the trigger today...
So I did it, ordered a rosewood 12 string grand, with jade linear inlays, pearl gray tuners and PASV pick-up...

Lead time is 1-2 months so with anyluck it will arrive in time for my 50th birthday in September.

(Queue James Earl Jones voice) Jade linear inlays...

Super. Can't wait to see the job SE does with that. Don't forget to eat and sleep after you get it.

I never tire of saying that.

I like the term "Stickmas" and the lead up to it is called "StickWait." My Railboard came two days before Christmas last year, so the term seemed especially appropriate, and a Merry Stickmas was had by all (well, really just me, and the wife and kids were vicariously excited through me and jokingly told me to put it under the tree and wait 2 more days, but of course that didn't happen!) May your Stickwait be light, and post pics when that purty 12-string comes in!

Best of luck, rock it out! (Or jazz it out, if that's how you roll instead of rock! :ugeek: )

Adds: congrats on the soon-to-be half century! That WOULD make a fine, fine present.

Thankfully stick-wait time is much less than it once was. They are projecting just 1 to 2 months. Since they have what I want in stock Cambria thinks they can finish it by my birthday on the 7th.

8 weeks, pretty good for a totally custom instrument. I'm pretty pumped.

WARNING! It changes your life. Your family, friends, and casual aquaintinces will think you are weird because if your not playing the Stick, you're talking about it (even in your sleep). CONGRATULATIONS! You're about to embark on a journey that never ends.
