You mention "less crosstalk" in the video. Is this 'less than the villex' or just 'less than many other passive pickups'? From the quick demo, it sounds nice but not night and day *but* less crosstalk is actually very interesting to me since I've definitely noticed the two middle strings being picked up more than I would like.

Really enjoyed the video Greg! I think it's great to have 2 solid options for the Railboard. That rolled down tone sounds really nice, definitely a little different from the standard..

I wonder if SE will eventually offer EMG passive pickups as an option on the PASV4 as well. I'd certainly prefer a tone knob to the notch filters currently on the P4.

This was one of my first thoughts when I found out about these new pickups. They are custom EMGs made to fit the Railboard, which has a shallower space available for the pickup. We could do what you are suggesting with a deeper pickup. Already having the PASV-4, though, there would have to be enough demand for it to make it worth pursuing... stay tuned....

I think what I said was there was "very little crosstalk". I haven;t had a chance to do a comparison yet between the two pickups, but I will soon.

I will say one thing in relation to the other discussion about how hard to play the instrument. This is especially true when you are using distortion, the lighter your touch, the higher the gain must be, and the more crosstalk you will have...

As long as this has turned into a pickup post, concerning the PASV4 - the ONLY thing I don't like about it is - no tone roll-off. Anyone think about (I have) a little block with passive tone control pots installed, plugged into the p.u., (stereo jack), daisy-chained to the stereo cable? It's passive, it would just be two tone pots...Anyone? Anyone?

Thanks and sorry, I didn't mean to mischaracterize the statement.

Absolutely no worries. Your question was perfectly reasonable..

Greg - I note your preamp. I will be running mine into a Headrush Gigboard. Should I plan on a preamp if I specify these over the Villex?
