Hi Gustavo, I gave the angle a try (and added the chord symbol). Interesting suggestion... and here's the vertical one with he chord symbol added: what do you think? I'm not planning on adding this info to the current video, but will definitely do so for future vids, so I'm really thankful for all the feedback, folks. The angled tab makes it more difficult for me to visualize so I would vote for straight up-and-down vertical tabs. Thanks - it's a great idea.

The vertical looks great, and doesn't crowd the chord symbol to the left of the frame.

I have to agree again. I can see using the angled version, but the verticle seems easier all around. Plus it sits in the over-all video better.

Thanks all, Vertical it is. Pop It Out!I just watched the video on YouTube at 720p "popped out": http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=5T ... M&vq=hd720Don't be fooled by the compressed jpeg still at the beginning...when I look back at the limitations in audio quality and video just a couple of years ago, I just think YouTube has gotten pretty amazing.

greg wrote: Lot's of people seem to wonder what it is about this tuning that makes it so well-suited to tapping, so I thought it would be helpful to have a general video that shows some examples of left hand accompaniment styles using the inverted 5ths tuning. I tried to cover how playing technique, tuning, and instrument ergonomics are related to each other. Hopefully it will help de-mystify the tuning a bit. I look forward to your comments on the content and to any suggestions about making future videos better. Happy Viewing: RSS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TZi0qKzKCMI get amused when I see people flocking to all 4ths on the SG-12, when in reality the 5ths tuning grows in strength the shorter the playable scale gets. So much so that if I was gonna go for a new one now, I probably go for the Alto and tune both bass and melody in 5ths. Tritone

I have not found a reason to go with the Alto rather then the SG12, so I'm now awaiting a SG12 set up for Matched Reciprocal tuning. I've been using this 5ths + 4ths for almost a year now on my Grand and I see your point in 5ths growing in strength with the shorter scale, because when improvising I quite often want to play chords with my left hand on the 5th tuned bass side that are just out of reach for my short fingers on the Grand. I can do them at the upper part of the fretboard though but with the SG12 I'm planning to reach those wide grips in 5th tuning even close to the nut.
