Love your enthusiasm. Makes it easier to present those Karate Kid moments.

I play pentatonic and diatonic improvisations over 1,4,5 bass root notes focussing on keeping the bass rhythm independent from my melodies.
I'm loving it.I have always admired piano players and harpists for there two hand ability now I'm blowing my mind with my own progress, I liken it to touch typing when you first look at the screen and cant believe your fingers are touching the right letters.

Totally agree. I began music as a guitarist then after years of doing that I needed to fill in the bottom end on my own compositions so I became a bass player. But I was never completely satisfied only being able to play one or the other of my two favourite instruments at any time.

After years of struggling to find people to accompany my playing in a way that doesn't compromise the integrity of my song, or just having to rely on others to play the accompaniment then to find out that it is possible to provide ones own accompaniment with the chapman stick has just changed my life. For the first time I can enjoy making music without being aware of what is missing from the sound. Of course this one instrument can never replace a full band but it can be a self contained sound perfect for playing alone.
