Song of the week for week #41 is a piece that was written for my Aunt Mary and Aunt Sue whom I love and adore. I hope you guys and gals dig it.

Cooool. I can hear why you love your aunts. Nice bluesy atmosphere. Love it. Thanks for putting soul in my breakfast. It's 6:20 am and I'll walk to work in a good mood :-)

You have to pay your dues to play the blues...and I can see (hear) you're up to date on your payments...lol...really nice.

Thanks Kataway. Aunt Mary was truly a competitor. She could run, play volleyball, tennis, throw a javelin - you name it. If there was a chance to compete, she was into it. And so gracious and full of humor. She ran 2 full triathlons too. Badass.

Nice presentation. I liked the harmonic chord voicings and flavor you evoked. Great job

Gene,
Great song for two Great Ladies! They are very lucky ladies to have a beautiful piece- warm, textured, soulful, written for them. I loved the harmonized walk up tranisitons- real purty!

Your harmonic choice of chords and overlap between the hands is exquisite- tones cascading over tones in a misty waterfall of notes. Your "Floyd Cramer" double stops/ pull offs came to full advantage here altering the underlying chord for an instant and then settling down for the next adventurous tonality.

Not everyone gets to the Olympics and not every one has a song so beautiful written for them.
This was a truly outstanding post on all levels. Another one of "Gene's Gems"!
As Tracy Spiridakos says on "Evolution"-"..... because we're family"! family indeed! :D
thanks Gene,
Dave Brosky
