He isn't my favorite player to watch for nothing... He will try anything and spend the time to make it viable. Always blown away by his musicianship as well as his technical skill.

Looks like he found his inner Les Claypool.

i love that style of thinking where any sound u can make can be made musically.

I tried this technique today. So far, it is very limited with the StickUp and PASV4 pickups. It looks as if he is using the ACTV2, which I also have, only it is on the "FrankenStick"(which I will be experimenting on later). With the ACTV2 there is more surface area to run your finger along. Cool idea.

It looks like there might be room on the R Block, but I have not tried yet.

Gotta try it! Melody side pitch reversed, Frith style. LH pinky as the new bridge, and the Block's surface as the fretless fingerboard (except that Bob's RH seems to move beyond the Block for lower melody notes nearer the bridge/tailpiece end. (Must explore.)

Then with a flick of the wrist across the newly adapted fretless "Blocky" board he compliments his sitar lines with tuneful tabla rhythms. All the while his LH drones on with a common Stick technique and his RH occasionally strums to enrich the entire "orchestra".

Just tried it on my gold Railboard and yes, the pickup is the crossing point. Fingering fretless on the "fretless" R-Block between bridge and pickup, my left pinky becomes the new bridge with reversed pitch along the new fretless Block area (don't cross over the pickup).

Holy Moly, that's expressive! And there's that sitar twang coming from somewhere. A genuine expressive enhancement for the melody side.

I noticed the Frith likeness as well, Emmett. Weird.
