With that serial number, I would'nt be surprised if this could be the first stick built ever. Anyone from the SE team who could telling us the history of this Stick?

It was discussed on Bob's Zoom call last weekend. Opinion was that the number (111) indicates the 11th production Stick.

Ebay says: "This is the oldest Vintage Stick available today.......#111 Ironwood I worked with Emmett Chapman in 1974 and purchased this instrument in the beginning of 1975. This is the 11th one he made!!!"

Anyone who watched Emmett's memorial service will recall Grace telling of Emmett's choice to refurbish Stick 103.
The 5/7 pickups are hard to come by so it's a real find for those that want them. I know Rob Martino recently switched over and is a fan of it. Also, Giancarlo Caffarena uses one and Scott Schurr - quite the bunch of gnarly Stickists.
I remember reading about Rob's stick. I think it was a 7 + 5, with 7 bass strings and 5 melody strings. The other folks, such as Giancarlo, have it reversed, with 5 bass strings and 7 melody strings. There are some nice right hand chords you can do with that type stick.
