Re: Skating
1:11. Ha! If I could ever play that tune with as much authority and swing (true to the original) as you do I could die the next day happy. Something about "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and Charles Schulz's insistence on "jazz" burned a hole in my head. (8 yrs. old) Once I knew what "music is about" I searched the bins for Vince Guaraldi and found "Cast Your Fate To The Wind" and Joe Walsh's little plug after finding the "album that would haunt me the rest of my life". Charlie Brown, Christmas. and Vince Guaraldi. Makes me cry. (I've got the Book and try every year)

Very nice, Brian!! This doesn’t look to be an easy piece. Your own arrangement?

Re: Skating
Thanks for the kind words folks! Skating is not a terribly hard tune. Chordal accompaniment is I-IV-V-IV over and over, with the cool minor 3rd chordal climb. I use to play around with this by ear until I realized how wrong I was playing the melody. Last year I downloaded the print music and made an arrangement from there, more or less keeping it true to the lead sheet.
And hey - No one's mentioned the cameo from my hand made, triple ply, hardwood lap bar! That's called "product placement", ladies & gentlemen...

Was it actually just a lead sheet, or was it maybe a piano arrangement?

I think it was piano arrangement. But it becomes lead sheet in my head...

Well, either way, it's a very nice arrangement, Brian! My go-to for sheet music has been Musicnotes, and they have at least a dozen different arrangements for that piece, from guitar tab to "Easy Piano" to piano solos, so no dearth of stuff to use as a starting point.
