Post Meal Train for Steve Oz
Hi everyone! I just saw on Facebook tonight that Steve "Oz" Osburn is going under the knife for triple bypass surgery on the 17th of December. Most players have heard Steve's name tossed around over the years. He's been playing since the early 80s and is the father of Stick playing in Michigan. Everyone in this state who has ever played has also walked into Oz's Music. A store that today, is the only authorized dealer of Stick intruments in the United States. Steve organized the first Michigan Stick seminar back in 1998 and then partnered up with me to continue organizing workshops from 2000 up through our Interlochen workshops. In his Ann Arbor neighborhood, Steve enjoys almost a folk hero like status having taught music to a large number of the kids who live near his store.

Today, Rose is look for help while Steve is in recovery for her and his wife Leslie in the form of meals, restaurant gift cards, grocery gift cards, etc while they look after Steve and also look after Oz's Music. She has created a Meal Train page for this very purpose that you can visit at https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/wzdr0e

Please visit the page and consider helping out the Oz family and, by extension, the greater Stick family.

Cheers!

I believe I’ve posted this before, but for those who do not know who Oz is, this is a really good interview from one of the major Detroit TV news stations:

Sorry to hear that, but OTOH I’ve known so many for whom this procedure was a miraculous life-improving, to say nothing of life-saving, procedure. I’m stopping into the store this afternoon to look at one of Steve’s older Sticks that sounds like it needs a new jack. Might drop off a gift card while there!

Thank you Glenn for passing this on. Donation made to Steve via the Meal Train link you provided.

I've known Steve for decades, shopped at his great store, and Steve even let me borrow one of his Sticks so I could attend the 2019 Interlochen Stick Workshop as a participant. He's a good man! Best wishes to Steve and his family.
