Post Harmonic melodic tidbit #385
A solo tool I use frequently.
When improvising a melodic solo, link chord shapes that are harmonically related and play them broken in single note fashion connected linearly. The net result is one note per string (across the neck horizontally) which sounds very different than scale playing (multi notes per string or vertical).. Variables include rhythmic spacing and direction of broken chord notes (melodic, not arpeggited).

I missed #384 ! - thanks for all the tips. They’re great. I was just thinking , you should sell bags of fortune cookies with the tips in them. Or go Eno, and maybe make a stick version of the oblique strategies cards. Would make a great Christmas present for stick players [emoji16]
