I "auditioned" once to play Stick for the NY Blue Man show to sub for a student who was in the band. They actually told me I was over qualified.

That makes sense. I get the impression that they're into 'interesting noises from interesting sources'? I think the guy doing the demo said he was handed the Stick at his audition & expected to play?!
Maybe all that white tape on the Stick is for "play here, then follow the tape to here, then..."?
