Re: My Stick is ready.
Nice! Before I switched my order to the Stickup (which required a switch to tarara), that's kind of the same "serious with a little color" visual vibe that I initially had in mind: black tuners, rosewood, abalone linear inlays.

I love the light and dark tones in the chechen grain, they give it a rustic, reclaimed-wood kinda vibe. Very nice.

Glad to see the Stickup getting some love. Such a great sounding pickup Jzzb8ovn wrote: Also this is what the backing plate looks like. I could swap for passive 4 if I want but love the sound of this pickup. I've never seen that. Is this because you might change later? Or was this wood blank already outfitted for a block pickup?

Re: My Stick is ready.
I wanted a stick up pick and the blank they had was for a larger pickup. I thought that was a bonus. If I want to swap out I have that option now. Also might try to fit a fishman pickup in the gap but not sure yet if I want to go down that road. There was a small up charge for the backing plate but I’m happy it was done

Nice to leave options open.

Re: My Stick is ready.
What a beautiful instrument !! I so love that backing plate... as that totally leaves pick up options wide open.
I think if I was to ever get a Grand Stick - or be lucky enough to find one of the early production run 34" scale Grand Sticks, I would see about having that backing plate option fitted so it would enable a variety of pick up options as well.
