I've no doubt this has been asked before however the old database is gone so time to rebuild it! ;-) I know SE does research and sells the best Strings available for their instruments. That being said ... has anyone used strings other then official NS Stick strings on their NS? If so what were they... |

And now for the other side... I don't come from playing bass or guitar but from the piano, and I'm feeling far more wrist strain (left wrist, that is) playing the stick than playing any keyboard. The source of the problem is that I let my left elbow hang down at my side instead of holding it up, pa... |

Ah, yes, good old #2. I really worked hard on this one and could play it at very fast tempo. I think it really helped me get started on feeling what it's like to have each hand doing different rhythmic things. I recommend it highly. -Eric Hi Eric, I think one of the best things about this exercise ... |

I thought I recalled seeing a lot of the guys at the Ann Arbor Seminar with CBI (?) cables that looked a lot thinner. Hi Peter, i really like the CBI cables. The two conductors are separated and each has its own sheilding. from my experience, they provide the most balanced and musical sound of any ... |

After reading Marty's post about being diagnosed with carpal tunnel in another thread, I wanted to point to this interview, but thought the subject merited its own thread: http://www.stick.com/interviews/brockedmonds_09_02/ I've met lots of players who have switched from guitar and bass to Stick for... |

Thanks for the feedback Greg however I'm really refering to more NS specific tips in regard to getting the most out of the instrument itself. Tricks and techniques that are specific to the quirks of the construction of the instrument. I'm not really refering to playing in 4ths tuning. Like all bass... |

I got my first stick last year and have used Greg's Stick book and CD exclusively with good results. To help me master the fingerboard I put together this diagram and for me has proved invaluable. Please feel free to use as well. ps I have used sharps in the diagram but these can also be flat as we... |

Hi everyone, I've been having a little discussion about which version of the Stick Book is the best to use with a Grand tuned to Classic tuning, Classic or Baritone Melody. My thinking has always been that it's better to use the Baritone Melody version so that you can practice playing the lowest mel... |

I don't really know about the whole foot tapping thing, if I'm trying to get a new rhythm to feel natural to me, like an odd time signature, or a grouping of notes that stretches across more than one beat, I try and engrain as deeply as possible by being able to tap it out accurately keeping beat w... |
