I get amused when I see people flocking to all 4ths on the SG-12, when in reality the 5ths tuning grows in strength the shorter the playable scale gets. So much so that if I was gonna go for a new one now, I probably go for the Alto and tune both bass and melody in 5ths. I have not found a reason t... |

apparently an older style wooden coat hanger can do the job. Has anyone tried it? Yes, I have one such here. Works just fine. But I prefer to stand up playing, at least until I get good enough for sitting down. I need to keep my entire body 3D movable in order to master the two hands independence t... |

Indeed an exciting instrument. But I wouldn't afford either the price tag or the time to learn it. As for playing electronically designed sound sources my Akai EWI 4000s is the best option I can imagine. It is because I have the EWI I don't want MIDI on my Stick ;-)) @robmartino, Thank you for the w... |

Thanks for the hint - that was a nice retro track! Cool that some people of today cares to write and play in that style! But the double tracked guitar power chords might not totally fit the -75 idiom? Hatfield And The North was my favorite band back then. As were Gentle Giant, that kind of also echo... |

Wonderful playing of an incredible instrument! Nice that the SG12 model is finally starting to be spotted here and there. The SG12 model seems to be a good instrument design. |

For anyone interested, here's a link directory for videos covering all kinds of live looping: http://www.youtube.com/livelooping I loop a lot live myself, but not much with the Stick. I appreciate that the Stick lets me get away a bit from the need to use looping to create multi part music on the fl... |

Great driving bass line with exciting fills! Why don't more bass players play that way? I saw Tony Levin do some exciting two-hand-on-bass-side lines with STickmen here in Stockholm but when that technique is applied to a meticulously composed song in the studio at just the most tasteful blend betwe... |

ComplexI wrote: Why do you, Stick Enterprises and the Stick community as a whole stress playing, holding and tuning in the traditional manner? Do you really think that eight alternate tunings suggested for a Grand is "traditional"? That's rather "experimental" to me |

Thank you for the advice, Johannes! It actually works higher up on the fretboard. I never tried that because on guitars it sort of works three times better over the neck pickup. Quite weak influence on the strings but works for slow attack notes on the thinner ones. |

I ordered a SoftStep among "the first 100" to have it shipped directly from the factory. Shipment was delayed to October 14 instead of June as planned and that forced me to cancel and go for another solution in order to fulfill concert submissions. BTW, I just met Zoe in Frisco two weeks a... |
