Nuendo/cubase. Been using it for years and I don't have the time or patience to learn a new one. Sent by Tapatalk

Pro tools, definitely. On Mac and PC both. I've invested a lot of time and money into plugins (that I could use on other DAWs, to be fair) but I constantly, constantly discover new features and keyboard shortcuts and tricks. I really love pro tools.
I've played with almost all of them, but like everyone else said, who has the time?

Reaper is one of the DAWs I've played with, and although it's got many fine points--like easy portability of VSTs and plugins, and it's cheap (I paid the $50 or so in support of the movement/effort/project/thingy), and there's a fair amount of support out there for it--its chief drawback is that it is not Pro Tools!

Logic ProX, cause I have been using it for years, and I know it inside and out! I'm pretty familiar with Cubase/Nuendo, Digital Performer, Reason/Record and Reaper also. Those are the ones that come up the most in projects around where I live. I might pick up a current version of Protools this year and see what I have been missing...

I like Logic. I do a lot of automating of plugins, and it seems to handle that very well.

Logic Pro X seems to be really powerful. I used it a bit when transferring files around to Scott recently and I see it's got a bunch of new powerful features. Like Garageband, there seem to be several auto-accompanying modules that my 11-year-old can rock out on his ipad with. He can actually play piano and drums but loves that auto-comper. I think Scott's talked about the auto-drumming feature that rocks as well. Good tools, especially if you're just starting. But it's also not Pro Tools (for me!), and thus I won't get too deep into it, unless I have to. But it's the software I'd use if I didn't use PT.
