Re: Stolen Stick Polycarb #1959
Roger has clearly stated that he did not sell his Stick. This is fishy. Could Youenn Landreau or Yanlep step in and confirm that this instrument really is in France? Or if Nicof could post a pic with himself and the instrument. This is indeed strange.

This stick with the mod applied to it was discussed a while ago on the AFSTG forum here : http://www.afstg.com/fora/viewtopic.php?t=762

Re: Stolen Stick Polycarb #1959
Hello, I confirm I had this Stick in hands in summer 2012. I also confirm its former owner was a known French singer ( https://www.youtube.com/user/paulinecroze). Because she didn't use it, she ask me to order some accessories to give it a new life before selling it: - a belt-hook - a shoulder strap - the twist-on lock button to attach the strap on the Stick - a new damper It was May 2012 when I placed my order with Cambria. Then after Nicolas bought it. You can see a pic of Nicolas with his Stick here: http://www.afstg.com/spip.php?page=membres&id_membre=80It's a small one, but you can see the #1959 serial number. Gene, are you sure the stolen Stick is really #1959 ? Can't it be the #1995 one? Nicof wrote: Yuta chapman bas been informed 2 years ago that i was the new and happy Owner of #1959. Yuta could confirm too.

Re: Stolen Stick Polycarb #1959
Thanks Yannick. Roger wrote the following on Facebook....: Quote: Some low life stole my stick! Black Polycarbonate serial #1959. Let me know if you spot it anywhere. Thanks. The same serial no for sure. Either that he just wrote the wrong no or something else..... This is really strange. I gave him the link to this thread and then he wrote.... Quote: France ! BS I didn't sell my stick! You can ask my son! It was stolen from his house. Hope it´s just a big misunderstanding. Good that you posted the pic, Yannick. It shows the serial no clearly. It actually feels like it´s important that this gets solved.

Re: Stolen Stick Polycarb #1959
Does Roger Emerson have a pic of him with his Stick to read the serial number? The pic of Nicolas is on AFSTG's website since January 2013!
I remember something about serial numbers at SEI, something like if they start again the number, don't you?
Perhaps Yuta can check who are different owners of Stick #1959 and when? She can also check what was the serial number of Stick instruments Roger bought?

Re: Stolen Stick Polycarb #1959
The starting over of the numbers happened in 1990, with the introduction of the truss rod, just after polys were discontinued. I know because my first stick is #020, and I've seen #001. Could it be that two polys received the same # by mistake? At this point I can't see any other logical explanation. But I would also add that it is beyond doubt that the Stick in France is not the stolen one.

Re: Stolen Stick Polycarb #1959
Thanks Yannick for your help and testimony. I took this picture on the 13th of october 2012 in my kitchen (thats the tag in the pic file that precise this). Anyway i feel very disppointed and annoyed. I find this awkward and unfair to suspect someone without a single clue. There is no physical possibility (except teleportation) that this instrument was at the same time in the hands of a robber in Indiana USA and in Saint Cloud France on the 5th of january 2015. There are the 3 possibilities: - there is another #1959 polycard 5strings - roger believe in teleportation - roger forgot he sold his stick a long time ago
I personally think it is the 3rd solution. According to stick enterprise this instrment has been built in july 1986. According to the "list of chapman stick owners and serial numbers" (cant find the link on the internet now) Roger was the first owner. But 1986 is nearly 30 years ago and lots of things happened since then, including oversight. Furthermore the stick was not in his own premises, but supposedly at his son's place. Since when? Was he sure? Can he double check with his son ? Does Roger have a recent picture of him with the stick ? Thank you for checking this before getting back to me. Nicolas

Re: Stolen Stick Polycarb #1959
On Facebook Roger finally said it was stolen in November 2011!
But I know Nicolas isn't the burglar and I think Pauline (the previous owner) can't be a thief, but I don't know when she bought it and who was his seller...
