Paul Koors Band - October 12, Charlottesville
Hi everyone, My most recent musical project involves the music of Paul Koors, who was a friend and recording client of mine. Paul finished recording his 2nd album in July, 2018. His family and I have set up a charitable foundation to fund research in aortic dissection disease, which took his life suddenly and without warning last August 29th at the young age of 38. We're also raising money for music education projects in songwriting. I produced the album, and played all the bass parts on The Stick (as well as a little alto sax). Most of the bass parts are plucked, which has a distinct tone, not really Stick, and not really electric bass either. The violinist and the drummer from the record, as well as my good friend guitarist and singer Peyton Tochterman have joined me to form a band that will perform Paul's music at fundraisers for the non-profit Paul Koors Memorial FoundationOur first gig will be in Charlottesville on Saturday, October 12. This will also be an album release event for his new record, Make a Man, the Unfinished Life of Paul Koors. Here's a little montage of excerpts from three of the tracks: and here's a link to info about the concert. People are coming from all over the US who were friends of Paul's, so if you plan to come, I suggest you get tickets early.. Every ticket will get a copy of the CD as well...

I’ve heard the whole album while driving around with Greg at Interlochen this summer. This is a wonderful piece of work and I’m looking forward to its release. A sad story with a nice tribute and memory of a good person. Kudos to Greg! Have a great concert.
