I can't get myself to Vancouver. I did get to experience Jim's teaching at Greg's camp and thoroughly enjoyed his expertise and personality. If you can go, I recommend it.

Im coming Yeah. Jen has a couple questions that I missed so once she sends them Ill be signing up. Interlochen was great and for anyone who is curious any meeting of fellow stickists is always awesome. Its so cool to get together and finally meet everyone as well as new people who don't even use this forum. The Instructors are amazing and I learned so much from everyone that for me this is an excellent value for a vacation as well as a way to network and learn to play this amazing instrument. You should all sign up and if possible drop what you are doing and come. It will be great.

Re: Stick Camp Canada May 23-28
Excellent, Rob!
I agree - Stick player gatherings are amazing! Like Gabriola Island, Interlochen is a beautiful environment for a musical journey, as Glenn and Bob and the rest of us proved again last July. Greg's Virginia Stick Summit last year along the Moormans River was also amazing. And don't get me started on Guillermo's Stick Camp on Mallorca - 35 Stick players from over a dozen countries, every style imaginable (plus Boris Bazurov - when I saw him perform, I realised I would have never imagined it!)
These weekends aren't just about learning to play the Chapman Stick. The amount of musical ideas (composition, technique, performance, practice regimen, arrangement, effects, looping...) that are shared at these "retreat-style" events is hard to comprehend until you go to one. So, yeah, wherever you are, go to a Stick gathering. Well, after you come to Stick Camp Canada, that is!
