Re: Claire Steger and Brett Bottomley MFA Boston!!!!
It was really fun to do the instrument demo today. I have always loved the MFA, so it was great to discuss and play the Stick alongside the museum’s instrument collection. The MFA has a beautiful 10-string Stick in their collection. I think we had about 40+ attendees (the instrument gallery was full), most had never heard of the Stick. They were very interested and asked a lot of great questions. Both Brett and I spent time discussing the history and various aspects of the Stick, and played a few pieces each. It was overall very relaxed and enjoyable. Thanks again Brett for inviting me to join you for this!

This is fantastic to hear. Who better to represent Boston!? What tunes did you wind up playing? Would love to hear more about it.

Dang I'm so bummed I missed this! I wound up with too much on my plate to allow me to get out there.

For my part, I played: Bach Minuet in G Major Chopin Prelude in B minor Satie Gnossienne 1 I believe Brett did jazz standards and originals, hopefully he'll chime in with specifics. (I still need to make some time to come out and see Geph.) It was admittedly at an odd day/time combo (Monday morning traffic is never fun), although you could tell people came in for this demo. At 10am when the museum opened, some folks came in just to put their jacket on a chair to reserve it. I assume they went to visit the museum for a bit before our 11am start.

So cool. Was it by chance recorded? Maybe on video?
