Post Back in Business Live.Open Mics..
Been a slow and generally disappointing start to the year for various reasons on the Stick front,
However I finally got back to two of my favourite venues this week and had an absolute blast , only short spots , half an hour & 20 mins or so but it certainly fired me up again. Nice to catch up with the usual suspects and just hang out with artists and others.

So not much to say, just that it was the exact injection I needed and well worth the drive , I'm about an hour or so from the part of town where all the venues are.
Had another really good one organised tonight right in the city but just cancelled it due to sudden work and having to fly out asap in a day or so, spot filled in minutes though, work is really starting to irritate me big time other than it paying for everything !
Hope I can share some new stuff again soon.
B - Down Under.

hey Bruce.
I may have asked you this before, but what outboard gear do you bring to open mics (effects, etc) , or you just show up with Stick in hand and hope for the best?

Cheers,
Kev

Hi Kev
Standard gear I take is
2x Radial DI's , one is a passive JDI for bass side & active J48 for melody side, but it needs phantom from the desk. I have a stereo Behrhinger DI in the bag as backup if no phantom Power.
I now have a cool electro Harmonic Small Clone Chorus pedal , used lightly on the bass side on some songs.
Melody side is old Boss DD3 delay , adds a little thickening and ambience but again its subtle.
I've just added a Boss OD3 overdrive in the melody side , mainly for the solo part of Layla & sometimes on a piece called New blue.
Optional extra is the electro harmonix Catherdral Reverb for the more chilled out pieces to add Space.
I know the inputs available at most of the palces I go, anywhere New I check With them first to avoid drama.
starting to expand sounds and effects now as the NeXT step to add interest.
Cheers , B :D

Rocking it out, Bruce! Work sucks, but it pays the bills. Safe journeys and good crowds for you when you're out on the Mic(s)!

I always look forward to your open mic clips Bruce; Here's to hoping that there's some more coming!

Anyways, rock on, man.

I hope so Scott, would like to get a Clip of Layla now I'm more comfortable doing it live. My daughter is getting into photography and coerced me ( well not really, I give in easily ) into a Digital SLR camera, I suggested to her she can come along on Photo/video duty for practice. :D

I'd love to see what you've done with the progression! Layla is a fun tune!
