Post Re: Strymon Effects Pedals
Disaster Area all the way, for me anyway. The gen3 DMC-3XL can control CC for all pedals or as preset. You can get an optional expression roller on the side AND still have a separate expression pedal as well. If you use any of the zoom pedals, get the gHOST input, allowing you all that same control (minus expression I think). You can also control looping on the timeline as well. Disaster Area does a LOT of testing with Strymon products as well as Empress and Chase Bliss. Oh, you can also tap tempo with an external pedal and set tempo for all 3 pedals.

I just upgraded from the DMC-3XL gen2 to the gen3. They have custom colors - went with the Grape Soda sparkle, told Drew over at DA I wanted to do my part to make America GRAPE again.

Let me know if you want to do a hangout ever on it.

Also, known to many people that have ended up in bad shape on motorcycles. Please be careful.

TappistRT, I just picked up a 60bn! Waiting to get back up to Pasadena to dig into my new dmc3xl gen 3! Big time changes to pedalboard are on the horizon.

I've had my fair share of motocross accidents.
Spent many years on a 600tt and love it.
This one is for trail riding only.
Lots of fun, exploring...

Bikes aren't as bad as hang gliders. ;)

Post Re: Strymon Effects Pedals
Disaster Area Designs got back to me really fast.
They recommend either the DMC-4 or DMC-6 for my application.
I like the footprint of the DMC-6, as it's similar to the Strymon pedals.

So, here's the issue...
I'm struggling over the value of these controllers, as I'm not a performer.
I play for my own personal fun and a way to relax. Excellent de-stresser!

I've ordered Roland's UM-One USB-MIDI cable for use as a software interface.
I have several touch screens that I can use to make a kiosk style controller.
I think that controlling MIDI can be done in software with more flexibility.

(Said lightly, grinning with eyes staring slightly off-center) Kiosk style controller...

Why didn't I think of that...

There's lots of very cool stuff out there...
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=touchscreen+daw

It would be fun to just point at a preset on a touchscreen and there you are.
Compare this to looking down and tapping on a pedal board?
Point and shoot seems like the way to go.
Presets on demand...

Just thought of another idea, use a keyboard for selecting presets.
Each key could be labelled with a different preset.
