Post 12-String Railboard, is it going to be released this year?
Hello everyone.

I am still a wannabe Stickist at this point. I am holding out because I am really sold on the Railboard but I also really STRONGLY desire 12 strings. My desire is to have both of these features in one instrument. I really don't have the funds to own multiple instruments at this point in my life and I happily live in Costa Rica. This means I will need to travel to the U.S. to pick up my instrument in person and fly it with me back home.

That said, if I had to prioritize which would be a more important feature in my instrument: Railboard or 12 strings, I suppose I would have to go with 12 strings, and then I would pick bamboo as the construction material.

So, I suppose what I am asking is what the odds are of the 12 string Railboard being announced this year. Ideally I would like to take possession of my new baby before the end of the year. I am not getting any younger (65 and turning 66 in August). :o

I would bet that it IS indeed coming, but you know the wood ones are AMAZING too! lol I love my 10str Railboard too, even though my main is a 12 str... :D
Good luck, man!

I hear ya. I had a a blue Railboard out of the very first batch and there's a lot to love about a Railboard. But I too wanted 12 strings so I moved to a padauk grand with a pasv4 and now have a dark bamboo grand with a stickup which I adore. Bamboo is a material in a class by itself and is not technically a wood but a type of grass believe it or not. 12 string Grand Railboards are definitely coming and there's one in my future - that's a fact. Maybe I'm not supposed to tell this but I've seen all the major parts for a prototype at Emmett's shop. He's been very busy doing what he does and he spends more wee hours at the business of Stick Enterprises than I care to imagine. I'm not sure about this year. I would like to hope so. It's been a slow train, but as Bob Dylan sings: "There's a Slow Train Comin"......

Hopefully, the string-spacing will be consistent with the ten string.

If I'm not mistaken I think the string spacing is gonna be a bit wider than a hardwood Grand.

I've brought up the 12-string railboard topic with Mr. BSharp a few times. One obstacle was the weight of the 12-string. I don't really care if it is a few pounds heavy, since I sit when I play, but some prefer to stand.

I'm not sure when it is going to happen, but if you want one, call Stick Enterprises to get your name on the list.... after my name of course.

All good. If it's a bit on the heavy side, that's fine with me.

What a great thread. I was thinking about how to ask this question ... and Alberto asked it for me.

Would be great to see the Railboard V12! Emmett's commitment to ongoing invention is so inspiring.
