Re: A Real Time Mystery with Billy Sherwood (Yes)
Jeremy,
I'm at work and can't listen to your SoundCloud song, which is really the whole point of this posting. I can't wait to listen to it and tell you about the mix and the recording/songwriting but that will have to wait. That's so awesome that you're writing and recording with a Yes member. You're my hero!
I found myself very much interested in Izotope, particularly your description of what it can do.

I picked up Izotope's Neutron and Ozone this weekend and it made all the difference. Neutron is essentially a channel strip with EQ, compression, exciter, and transient shaper but two key features - Track Assistant and Masking. Track Assistant will automatically create an EQ curve based on "listening" to the track. You add the plug in to any track you want.
That sound very interesting to me! I need some help lately mixing some more aggressive stuff with several guitars and Sticks and stuff all going on and all sucking up the headroom and EQ space. A graphical representation and analysis to go along with what I'm hearing seems very, very useful.
I'm going to check that out. I'm going to read some Izotope reviews here at work, since I can't listen to your fine tune, and see what the mixer audiophile community is saying (which seems to be nothing but good stuff about Izotope!)
I'll listen at home tonight and get back to you. Thanks for sharing and for the Izotope info. You must be really excited to re-examine and re-mix the whole back catalog. Congratulations and thanks for sharing!
