Interior Dual Bass Reciprocal on an NS/Stick?
Hello everybody, I'm pretty sure I saw recently someone here using a DBR tuning on an NS/Stick ; but I can't find this post out! I remember their was also a pic! Actually I wonder about the bridge to have bass strings (regular guitar bass pitch) on the melody side. I would like to have an instrument I can play like a regular 4 (or 5 with DBR) strings bass with the G as highest note, combined with a Inverted Fifth Bass tunning to play Two-handed bass patterns. I know I could do it on a Stick Bass but I think the slap/plug method should be more comfortable on an NS/Stick. BTW I also found this post, but not exactly the same tuning : viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3597&start=10#p26532Thanks with your help.

The string spacing on the nut hardware doesn't allow it.

I did the standard dual bass reciprocal on my NS when I owned it. It worked fine if that is what your talking about. Call stick ent. and tell them what you want. In my case they had to send me smaller saddles for the melody side that were reamed out to accept the larger ends on the bass strings. Hope that helps.

Re: Interior Dual Bass Reciprocal on an NS/Stick?
(Yeah, old thread) That doesn't help me decide at all. Been really debating going with a more "bass-centric" setup than the 12-String Grand I was considering, at least to start on. So I ended up looking at the NS/Stick vs. StickBass, and one of the big differences was I hadn't seen any reciprocal tuning on the NS. Still can't decide whether to go with more standard (straight across) tuning, or reciprocal with this. I want to learn on it, be able to play in bands on it, but later move to a 12 String Grand. Non-reciprocal tuning would be easier to start with and learn on, but then I'd be switching a lot more when I go to the Grand. Ugh...

I have dual bass reciprocal on a 10 string grand. Gives me a 6 string bass on the melody side and a 5 string stick bass on the near side (lowest string common to both). Works great for me
