Hi all, I'm selling my half-fretless NS/Stick, I've honestly never really got to grips with it and while I've enjoyed playing it as a fretless bass and baritone guitar hybrid I'm obviously not making the best use of a very high quality instrument. It's an interesting one - when I bought it from Stick enterprises they weren't making the half fretless necks, but I managed to persuade them to build one for me by putting a metal plate down on the bass side. Metal as a fingerboard material is different, surprisingly it gives a very warm growl plugged in, not quite what you'd expect from the unplugged feel! It comes in the armor flight case and has the original strap and receipts. I'd be happy to fish out the emails discussing the build as well if someone's curious. I'm looking for around £2500 plus shipping from the UK, I'll leave this post up for a while and if I don't get any interest I'll ship it back to its maker for a valuation and to see whether they can sell it directly. |

Lovely looking instrument. I'm not interested myself, but since it's in the UK I've mentioned it to a well connected bass player friend in case he knows someone who might be interested. |

Whoa.... I so wish I could swing that deal, as this is a very very exciting design, totally brilliant.... Man, the first thing I would do is swap out the strings on the fretless side, and throw that into the classic 5ths tuning CGDA, and put the fretted neck EADG, so looking down at the neck it would go ADGCEADG with the heavy strings running down the center. ...oh to dream and dream and dream !!!! Of interest, a while back I got a 7 string Ibanez 4 fretted/3 fretless bass, which in the stock factory tuning while interesting, kind of got boring but once I threw the fretted side into DAEG and the fretless side into an open tuning, whoa did that instrument come to life !! |
