Oldest Classic 10 String Stick for Sale!
I am selling my Vintage Stick #111, the 11th one made by Emmett in the beginning of 1975. I worked with Emmett in 1974-1975. This one is African Ironwood. I am including: The original hard case/ Original Free Hands Lesson Book and Stick Flyer/ Original (2) 1974 printed tablets (lessons). I have this one-of-a-kind listed on Reverb and eBay.

I'm sure most people here are aware of your instrument.
Maybe you should send it back to Stick Enterprises and see what they will give you for it, or have them restring it, refurbish it, and then see what it's worth.
Make it playable. Personally if I was going to spend that much money on any instrument I would want to hear it play, first. I think you're probably going to spend another $2,000 maybe less to get it refurbed by Stick ent, and you might have to wait 6 months or a year to get it done. Nice instrument for a museum at this point. Good Luck.

Well. At least the Aerosmith Stick looks like you might be able to play it, and it has the upgraded bridge. But it doesn't add $3,000 to the price for me. You know what P.T. Barnum said, there's a sucker born every minute. StIcKsTiCkStUckStickinG

My #404 was made three years after this one. It's made of Angico hard wood and makes beautiful tones. It gets played almost every day. I paid $1200 CAD for it.

The only Sticks in existence I can see worth 10G's would be either Emmett's "Spoon" guitar or the Stick that Tony played on Discipline. Even the 14 string wouldn't be worth some crazy price like that. You never know tho, some dumb rich guy might buy it.

My stick #111 is in perfect playing condition. I just removed the strings as I know a buyer would want to restring their fav. I have also spoke with Grace Chapman about her Dad and my instrument. By my pics she also says it's condition in great!

It would be nice to have an instrument of such value snapped up by a collector and preserved. Regretfully, $9500 is steep, even for the avid collector.
Best of luck with making a bundle on this classic time piece of an instrument.

Re: Oldest Classic 10 String Stick for Sale!
I'm sure the instrument is in great condition. Buyer's need to be aware though that those early instruments weren't adjustable and were made for light gauge strings and standard/classic tuning. Deviating too far from that is likely to result in a poor playing experience. I know Emmett wasn't too keen on instruments becoming "collectables". He wanted them to be played and not sold for top dollar. I commented to him once about not letting go of my first instrument just because it was my first. His reply was "so what, a new one would be better" I guess it's inevitable though. Especially when the creator has left us. But still. No way I'd touch this. Best of luck to you though.
