Re: Chapman Sticks for sale?
This guy Frank is a legit person, he has a YouTube page.... but this ad, something does not seem right - and it's not just because of the price and what is being offered, I have a feeling somebody is running a scam saying they are Frank when in fact they are not.

Posted a comment under this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dggtXzcPG2U to see if he responds..... He seems like a real interesting guy, there is no way that ad can be legit....
If you search for Frank's name in Scottsdale, Arizona you will see that he owns a company along with the address and phone number. You could call him directly and ask him about the ad.

Re: Chapman Sticks for sale?
This guy has been around for many years re-selling Sticks, there's been several posts on this forum about him going back. To my knowledge the only authorized dealer/reseller has been Oz's Music in Ann Arbor. I believe this Frank Boxberger used to go by the name bix99.
Just type in "Bix99" or his name in the search if you want to go back through all of those old posts.

Re: Chapman Sticks for sale?
A few Stickists I know personally have had other issues with some of Frank’s videos I rather not bring up again that have nothing to do with selling Sticks.
I believe the Grid comment is wrong. I got to see one after a local Stick player passed away and it was brought over to Oz’s. A bit more hardware and I recall all the strings being the same gage. Not the same thing as the MIDI pickup equipped Sticks he has in his video. If I remember right the Grid had a special rack unit that went with it.
No offense, I somewhat do not want to be reminded of this guy. I happen to know someone who is a professional EBay flipper and while the guy I know is not doing anything illegal, how he obtains what he resells is often looked down at as unethical. If you look deep enough in some of the posts here from years back you will find a few people here not happy with Frank for the same reason. Not all flippers are bad though. There are those that love certain musical instruments and love restoring old ones that need TLC and reselling them for a fair price.

Re: Chapman Sticks for sale?
Yes, I could - but he could also reply to me... which he hasn't.
That's quite the video, I was almost surprised he did not have one of those super rare original Grand Sticks that had both the slotted screw nut and slotted screw bridge set up 5 bass 7 melody, because that is my ultimate dream Stick but that's just as well too, no way could I ever afford one today.
Did a search on bix99 but came up empty, then again I probably don't know what I am doing with how the search function works, does not matter - life is to short to spend it on line anyway...
Not sure why, but I kinda like reading threads from the past...
