Post Roland JC-40
I've always liked the sound of JC-120 and wanted to try it with the stick, but apart from rarity and cost the amp is simply too large for me.

Now, behold: Roland unveils a scaled-down reissue with tru stereo input: http://www.rolandus.com/products/jc-40/

Looks like this is the thing. I wonder if anyone will have a chance to try plugging the stick into one, I don't think it will be available in offline music stores here.

I have two JC-120 amps and I like them very much.
I paid $300 for one, and $600 for the other.

The JC-120 is actually two separate 60 watt amps.
It has two separate tone control systems, which works great with a Stick.

Recently, I thought about rebuilding the cabinets with a much lighter material.

Thanks for posting Vlad. I too had a JC-120 for a long time but could not justify hauling that thing around just for the melody side.

Stereo line out AND Stereo effects return are big wins.

I never understood the point: how much stereo separation could you possibly get with that enclosure (especially considering the reduction in dispersion due to the lateral alignment)?

I'm guessing that you would have to hear it, to understand.
I use two JC-120 amps when I play. (Excellent stereo separation.)

It's not really powerful but here is my setup. It's completely stereo. I go through a looper.

The RH is going through the G2 Zoom first and then to the looper. This side of the Stick is going to a small Acoustic Chorus AC-33 (Roland). Plenty of effects on the Zoom...or I use the chorus and reverb of the Roland.

The LH is plugged directly in the looper and then goes to a weird power amp. It's a Wholetone (Ibanez WT80). This amp has a 15 inches speaker. First I tried my jazz guitar on this amp but I wasn't satisfied...neighter with a bass. Then I tried it with my electric cello and it was really good. Then I was thinking about the LH of the Stick and I was surprised by the results. Sometimes I color my LH with the chorus and reverb of this amp.

Finally, on the top of this Wholetone you can see another Zoon, a H4n. Actually it's not plugged but many times it is. Depending of the recording mode I want to use, I can put it before or after the zoom.

Here's a pic...

I tested an ART Studio V3 today, and it seemed to work better on the Bass side of things.

JC120, a badass amplifier. I use it all the time - gigged that thing to death on guitar, and I play theough one all the time with my railboard.

I am definitely going to be checking out the JC40, but another JC120 is already ordered, haha

You mean "combo amp," not "power amp." No offense intended, mon ami, I only intend to prevent confusion.

I hate to make a post just to make a minor correction, let alone two such posts sequentially, but please do remember to include the "Tube MP" part of the model name when you refer to it. That part of the model name, which is almost a prefix, is critical to navigating ART's product catalog.
