Anyone know what Trey is using on the First Day album? I have been trying to come close enough using a Korg Pandora to mess around with and see if I really like the sound, but can't seem to get it right. Any ideas or suggestions?

For example: seen on the melody side @ 1'55"

I emailed Trey about that effect back when "The First Day" was released. He replied that it was the ART SGE effects unit that gave him those types of sounds. I was using the SGX-2000 at the time and wondered if I could achieve similar sounds with that. He replied it wouldn't be the same. The team at ART confirmed this when I asked them about it. I never got around to obtaining the SGE, so I can neither confirm or deny these statements

Hi Rob,

to me this sounds like he is using some kind of pitch shifting effect, like in a whammy pedal. I'm not sure if there is a pitch shifter in the pandora.
