Greg's Tech-21 Double Drive arrived in the mail today. I set up some OD sounds for my guitar then tried them out on my Grand. Much cleaner than the GT-2 and the mid-range knob is a major plus. Haven't ran the NS through yet, but I'm thinking it'll be fine.

One thing I need to play with on the Nova systems - I have an expression pedal hooked into it. Apparently it works with overdrive and distortion to control the amount of distortion in realtime.

It looks like the Nova Drive will do that too (which could be helpful)--but I think only if you map a midi expression pedal to the right parameters. That, and the ability to map other parameters to a midi controller make it a pretty future-flexible option. Still in an analog signal path unit. :)

I was up late last night playing with this. The trick is to find the right volume levels, because as the pedal is pushed from the lowest limit to the highest, the volume also increases. If there's not enough volume to start with, then there's nothing but silence. Makes for a cool effect though, acts as a volume pedal with an edge. Too bad it doesn't blend an even volume wet/dry signal. I believe someone here posted a "Keystation" pedal by either Pigtronics or EH that does something like that.

that Ethos pedal looks pretty cool, thanks for sharing, Karma.

Indeed, that Ethos is pretty serious-looking stuff! 8-)

Well, than it's working like a proper "overdrive" circuit, there's just no compression--I suppose you could add that in-line afterwards to get the desired effect.

Overall, how do you like the sound? What are you running it through? Inquiring minds want to know! ;)

I like it better than the GT-2, I run it through a Fishman Loudbox100 or my AI CODA R III w/2Ten Extension cab. Unfortunately I've been sick the last five days, missed out playing with people last week. I'm thinking another cool feature is the three "channels" will come in handy. Pretty good deal, Greg takes good care of his stuff, kept the origional packaging too. This pedal is more on par with what I'm familiar with the Bass Driver DI as far as noise levels go. Pretty quiet even if you tweak the treble up all the way.

Definitely does the trick for me, I don't want to buy more amps.
