I glanced through the older topics and didn't see a general discussion of the newer Class D high powered micro amplifiers. For some reason I've been keeping my eye on the Ibanez Prometheus, although there seems to be alot of similar ones out there as well. The Orange Terror Bass looks interesting too.

Anyone have experience with any of these? This stuff seems right up the stick alley, and I'm suprised there isn't more talk about them. Compact, high-powered, clean, ready for effects, it seems like a winner for stickists.

On a related note, anyone remember that Crate powerblock thing? It was bassically the same but taylored towards guitarists.

I (along with a few other Stick players) have been using Acoustic Image bass amps and the Fishman SA220 SoloAmps the past couple years, which use class D amplifiers. Amazingly powerful for their light weight, I've been gigging almost exclusively with the Fishman the past couple years. I hadn't been aware of the Ibanez Prometheus or other electric bass/guitar oriented amps.

I have a Markbass tube 800. Has two inputs with separate volume controls, 500 WTS at 8 ohms and 800WTS at 4 ohms. Weights 6.5 lbs and fits in my bass case!
