Fantastic preamp. I´m very happy with mine. Got a e-mail from the guys at BassLab earlier today. They´ve been really busy lately and have also just moved their office and work shop to a new address. They had outgrown their old place and needed to expand. Things are looking good for them. And the StepAbout is fantastic.

I wish I could take credit for the preamp circuit itself, that goes to Andreas at Richter Electronic Engineering, who makes preamps for the BassLab basses as well. Glad you're enjoying yours.

Does this preamp work well in front of any amplifier, or is it more specific to certain types?

Recording or gigs. It´s great for pretty much everything. High quality filters. Sounds fantastic. Makes wonders for a Stickup PU.
