The 10 band graphic equalizer is what I grew up with in the 60's.
I use the parametric EQ in Ozone because of the visual waveform data.
It allows me to visually see what I am hearing.
So many things affect tone. The instrument, the strings, the tuning,
the cables, the amp, the speakers, the effects, the room environment,
the person's perception of sound. So many factors.
At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference.
I change my EQ settings from time to time, based on my mood.
There is no magic bullet and sometimes EQ is not required.
Don't overthink it or over use it. Your ears will guide you.
https://www.digitaltrends.com/home-thea ... explainer/For the best tones, I believe that
impulse responses are the key.
I use them on my Kemper Stage, Tonex Pedal and Helix Floor.
They are a sonic snapshot of someone's equipment and environment.
I use EQ to fine tune how my equipment meshes with theirs.
Quite a while ago, I uploaded one of my Helix patches and IR.
