I still can't decide if this shouldn't be in the Teflon section.

Anyway if I were a keyboard player, I'd like to have it though.

Although I definitely miss the Stickup sound.

I have a virtual Chapman Stick
on my Spectrasonics Trilian Total Bass Module.
https://www.spectrasonics.net/products/ ... /index.php

These are very cool tools,
especially when combined with my Roli SeaBoard.
It allows me to play multiple instruments simultaneously.

if you know...
will it let you play into a 12 string range ?
does it have sound fonts ? that you could use in scoring programs ?

i'm a bit ignorant on this stuff

Trilian Total Bass Module - is a collection of virtual bass instruments.
It would be cool to run the acoustic bass on the midi side of a real Stick.

The Roli Seaboard - is a 5 dimensional touch midi keyboard,
that can mimic virtually any instrument on the planet.

That's pretty fascinating. I could see it as a great tool for an accomplished keyboard player teaching himself where all his keyboard moves lay on a Stick. However, I noticed a lot of times the fingerings shown on the Stick fretboard couldn't be played in a crossed configuration because the hands would clash physically. A lot of this could be ameliorated by playing the melody side stuff higher up the neck on lower strings and/or using a 12 string Matched Reciprocal tuning. Or playing an uncrossed tuning like Thierry Carpentier and avoid all traffic jams. There's also some nice left hand bass side lines and chords in this presentation which lay easy on a keyboard but would require 4 fingers, wide grips, long fast leaps, some pretty vituosic technique and often both hands to execute in the 5ths tuning. So it would actually take 3 hands to play some of that stuff on a real Stick. Having said all that, for my personal growth as a Stickist who doesn't play keys, I'd love to get some midi files of solo blues, jazz and gospel piano and just let it play, study the faux Stick moving dot "tablature" and see how much I could pick up that I could actually play on Stick. It could be a doorway towards developing a more chord based right hand style plus getting past a lot of "fall back" Stick cliches like 1-5-1 power chords and arpeggiated 10ths in the bass, etc. That's one reason Greg was so musical and cliche free. He came out of a piano background.
