Post Felt replacement
Hi Guys,
Just purchased a used stick.
I need to replace the felt at the first fret. Any suggestions on how and where to find the correct felt. Thanks Jeff

IMO some felt is to thin and can get distorted. I like a somewhat a ridged backing with a little raised fluff .I’ve used a cushy perforated vinyl. Do a bit of hunting, fabric outlet’s, large hobby stores or maybe a large hardware store. The material that Stick Enterprises uses is definitely out there.

I believe it's the 'fuzzy' side of velcro fastener. You can probably find that at sewing/craft shops? I've also seen it sold for use as cable ties at a hardware store.

Quick search: Yes, Greg says it's velcro in this post: https://www.stickist.com/viewtopic.php?p=128939#p128939

It doesn't have to be the same material. Non-slip shelf liner works really well at stopping the open string from ringing. Something like this will do the job, plus you should be able to get it at local department or hardware stores. Cut it the size you want. You could even layer it if you needed more thickness.

Installation tip. Put it between 2 sheets of paper. Slide under the strings to the proper position and then remove the paper.

I got some wide ( 3m ) Velcro at Home Depot. it works great. I put a strip of blue painters tape on the back to make it a tiny bit more snug . Does not even need adhesive to stay perfectly snug ( for me anyways)

I sometimes use one of these

if I want damping on a guitar. I just feed it in under the strings.
It sits there & does the job just fine. I do wrap it round the back & 'fasten' it to itself, but that's just to be tidy.

When I no longer want it there, I just slip it out again.

I imagine that a cut off piece of that would be fine as a replacement on the Stick?
